Data Availability

The International Journal of Embryo Cryobiology and Reproductive Sciences encourages authors to promote transparency, reproducibility, and responsible sharing of research data. Authors are expected to provide appropriate information about the availability of data supporting their published research, while respecting ethical, legal, privacy, and confidentiality requirements.

1. Data Availability Statement

Authors should include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript where applicable. The statement should clearly explain whether the data supporting the research findings are:

  • Publicly available.
  • Available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.
  • Available through a recognized data repository.
  • Restricted because of ethical, privacy, confidentiality, or legal considerations.
  • Not applicable because the article does not generate or analyze research data.

2. Data Sharing

Authors are encouraged to share research data when it can be done responsibly and without compromising participant privacy, intellectual property, or other ethical requirements.

Shared data should be accompanied by sufficient information to help other researchers understand and, where appropriate, reproduce the reported research.

3. Repository-Based Data

Where appropriate, authors may deposit datasets, protocols, supplementary materials, or other research outputs in suitable institutional, subject-specific, or general-purpose repositories.

Authors should provide the relevant repository information and persistent identifier, such as a DOI, in the manuscript.

4. Human and Clinical Research Data

Research involving human participants, patients, embryos, reproductive cells, or other sensitive biological materials may involve privacy and ethical restrictions.

Authors must ensure that shared data:

  • Does not unnecessarily reveal personally identifiable information.
  • Complies with applicable ethical approvals and consent requirements.
  • Respects participant confidentiality.
  • Follows relevant institutional and legal requirements.
  • Does not compromise the rights or welfare of research participants.

5. Restricted or Confidential Data

If research data cannot be publicly shared because of privacy, confidentiality, ethical, contractual, or legal restrictions, authors should clearly explain the reason.

Where appropriate, authors may indicate whether qualified researchers can request access through an appropriate institutional or ethical process.

6. Data Integrity and Accuracy

Authors are responsible for ensuring that the data supporting their manuscripts are accurate, appropriately documented, and consistent with the reported research findings.

Data must not be fabricated, falsified, manipulated, or selectively presented in a misleading manner.

7. Supplementary Materials

Authors may provide supplementary datasets, tables, figures, protocols, methodological information, or other supporting materials when appropriate.

Such materials should be clearly identified and relevant to the published research.

8. Data Availability After Publication

Authors should make reasonable efforts to maintain access to research data and supporting materials according to applicable repository, institutional, ethical, and legal requirements.

If a significant problem is identified with the data supporting a published article, authors should cooperate with the journal in investigating and addressing the issue.

9. Data Citation

When publicly available datasets are used, authors should provide appropriate citations and acknowledge the original data source. Dataset identifiers or persistent links should be included where available.

10. Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for providing an accurate Data Availability Statement and ensuring that any shared data comply with ethical, legal, privacy, and copyright requirements.

11. Commitment to Research Transparency

The International Journal of Embryo Cryobiology and Reproductive Sciences supports responsible data-sharing practices that strengthen research transparency, reproducibility, and scientific integrity while protecting confidential and sensitive information.
